I don’t know about you, but once September rolls around and the kids are back in school, I am ready to replace my peonies with pumpkins. Instead of replacing all my décor seasonally, I like to purchase staple items that will transcend seasons. By introducing seasonal colors, these staples transform seamlessly from summer into fall. Below I have included some of my favorite items that can be used at an entryway, on a hearth or mantle, or on a buffet. The best part? All these goodies can be found right here, at Sauder Furniture.
Lanterns add height but not bulk. They are the perfect addition to an outdoor space or indoors on a mantle or buffet. To add color and texture, replace a traditional candle with items such as small pumpkins, acorns, and pinecones. For even more interest, use a lantern on a dining table with a wreath at the base to create a simple, yet elegant, centerpiece.
Apothecary jars, also, add height and are a great space to display small items like acorns, leaves, and berries. These glass beauties come in many different shapes and sizes. It’s often best to display them in pairs or a set of 3 and to add variation. These jars make a statement on a mantle, buffet, or even in an entryway.
What better way to display large pumpkins or increase storage than a wooden crate? Crates are beautiful when they are stacked or used to house hearty mums. Keep them outdoors for a farmhouse vignette with primitives or move them inside to store your extra pillows and throws.
