The best part is you don’t have to wait until the end of the year before this cutting-edge color’s name is announced. The official color of 2015 is Marsala. This rich color has been a go-to beauty product color for many years because it compliments so many different skin tones; now its usefulness has transcended makeup and moved into interior design. It’s great for accessories, adding a pop of color to pillows or a throw, but when used in an entire room, acts as a grounding color. A matte Marsala is warm and inviting while a glossy finish is striking and glamorous. Marsala pairs well with a number of colors, but compliments best when coupled with golden yellows and aqua blues. This color has been described as “sophisticated and naturally earthy” which allows it to blend seamlessly into any style or space. Marsala can easily stand on it’s own but is also a great choice to combine with other colors. Only such an adept and versatile color could claim this year’s color of the year title.
